Job Description
We’re looking for a hands-on, technically driven Manufacturing Process Engineer to support and improve machining-intensive operations. You’ll work directly with Production and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize equipment performance, and lead continuous improvement efforts. This role requires a strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, equipment design, and real-time problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
• Daily Production Support:
o Partner with Production and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment and process issues
o Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for downtime events
o Plug into PLCs and CNC systems to diagnose and resolve logic or performance issues
• Process & Equipment Engineering:
o Design, build, and maintain machinery, tools, and automation systems
o Collaborate with machine and tool builders for new equipment launches
o Lead plant equipment install, debug, and continuous improvement activities
o Provide technical oversight for vendors during on-site work
• Continuous Improvement & Lean Initiatives:
o Drive productivity improvements through cycle time, uptime, and quality enhancements
o Identify and eliminate waste in processes using Lean Manufacturing principles
o Support implementation of GM’s Global Manufacturing System and standardized work
o Coach and train production teams on Lean tools and problem-solving techniques
• Project & Documentation Work:
o Support change management and production trials for new processes
o Create and maintain process documentation including PFMEAs, control plans, and flow diagrams
o Contribute to lessons learned and best practice updates for central process teams
o Evaluate bottlenecks and develop solutions to improve throughput

Required Skills & Experience
- BS, Engineering (any discipline acceptable)
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Ability to read an engineering drawings, troubleshoot equipment, and general mechanical competency
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Any AutoCAD knowledge/drafting knowledge
- 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience as a Process Engineer
