Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Permit Coordinator to join one of their telecommunication clients in their Long Island location in Bethpage or in Plano Texas. This role serves as the control tower for all permitting activities tied to construction and installation projects. This person will manage the full lifecycle of permit acquisition, from initial application through final approval, ensuring alignment with local regulations and company standards. This includes coordinating with local cities, railroads and navigating regulatory requirements, and ensuring all approvals are in place to keep projects moving smoothly. The ideal candidate should be able to negotiate effectively, expedite processes when needed, and manage large-scale initiatives involving hundreds of permits simultaneously.

Required Skills & Experience

- Minimum 10 years of permitting experience, ideally within a utility, electrical, or telecommunications company
- Has experience working with pull attachments and any general construction permitting
- Direct experience working with DOT (Department of Transportation), with a proven track record of managing transportation infrastructure projects and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Expertise in make-ready work, including pole assessments, attachment clearance, and collaboration with utility providers to prepare infrastructure for new installations
- Has experience working with overlashing to allow for network upgrades without needing to install new hardware
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume workloads, including oversight of hundreds of permits and projects simultaneously, while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
- Responsible for partnering with government affairs to drive a joint collaboration across organizations, both internally and externally

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience working alongside lawyers and lobbyists to handle permitting challenges and government approvals.
