A Dialysis Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care at one of the in-center hemodialysis units as part of a patient care team. The RNs are integral in ensuring safe care and the highest quality outcomes are prioritized for every patient. This a 12 station clinic with a team consisting of a Nursing Manager and 2 PCTs per shift.
Schedule: Full-time, three 12-hour shifts starting at 5:00am; Sundays off; no overnight shifts.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare dialysis machine, its alarms, and treatment supplies and ensure quality standards are met
Perform hemodialysis treatments per facility policies and procedures
Ongoing patient education, training and health coaching
Monitor patients during dialysis, assessing and communicating changes with physician and families
Administer and chart all prescribed medications
Follow CDC/CMS infection control regulations
Participate in patient care conferences, rounds and chart reviews
Document required patient education efforts
Facilitate continuity of care with local hospitals
Assist in medication inventory maintenance
Lead a small patient care team
Contribute to onboarding new staff members as directed
