Top Secret VMware/Windows Server Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a qualified Top-Secret VMware/Windows Server Engineer to support one of our government clients in Albuquerque, NM. This candidate will be supporting a high security government R&D environment focused on modernizing and sustaining complex virtual and physical infrastructures. This role blends engineering, systems administration, and research & development, with an emphasis on building, testing, integrating, and documenting solutions to an existing environment, rather than standing up net new environments. The day-to-day includes but is not limited to:

• Develop, manage, and sustain VMware based virtual environments and supporting Windows Server infrastructure in a high security environment
• Support and maintain multiple Windows domains across virtual and physical systems
• Participate in research, development, and evaluation of hardware and software solutions to support modernization efforts
• Build, test, and implement solutions; develop test procedures and documentation prior to formal testing and government handoff
• Collaborate with network, communications, development, and test engineers to support system integration and upgrades
• Administer and troubleshoot server hardware, virtualization platforms (vSphere / vSAN), and VDI environments
• Develop and utilize PowerShell scripts to automate configuration, testing, and system maintenance
• Ensure systems adhere to established security, installation, and operational standards
• Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system designs, test plans, and user guides
• Manage workload across multiple parallel projects using an agile, sprint based approach

Compensation:
$58.30/hr. to $62.50/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance (SCI eligibility is a plus)
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ required or obtainable within 2 months of start)
• Bachelor’s degree within an IT related field (can take YOE in lieu of degree)
• 4 years of experience within IT
• Strong experience with:
o Windows Active Directory / Domain Services
o VMware virtualization (vSAN strongly preferred)
• Server hardware and lab environment experience
• Ability to simultaneously track and manage work across multiple projects but similar domains
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
