Responsibilities:
Design Management: Oversee the design elements of both interior and exterior spaces. Work independently or collaborate with professional architectural service consultants and furniture distribution vendors to create cohesive, branded environments that meet a wide range of needs.
Project Execution: Facilitate, coordinate, and lead the execution of multiple major and minor capital projects, ensuring each is completed within the prescribed scope, schedule, and budget.
Space Planning: Independently manage space planning and design efforts throughout the project development process. Serve as the primary liaison and collaborator between client groups, consultants, and various service units. Provide support and guidance to leadership and the project management team on areas of expertise.
Project Oversight: Oversee project design, bids, orders, and installation for clients to ensure design and functionality are achieved and consistent with overall design guidelines. Review, negotiate, and process change requests and change orders.
Project Participation: Participate in the design of interior and exterior spaces for new facilities, additions, and renovations as assigned. Manage multiple projects concurrently, from assignment through project close-out.
Quality Assurance: Review projects for affordability, consistency, and completeness of design according to project objectives. Inspect furnishings and finishes to ensure conformance to plans and specifications.
Support Activities: Manage or oversee project support activities, including the development and maintenance of job files and tracking of project schedules and budgets. Directly responsible for scope, budget, and schedule development of assigned projects.
Coordination: Oversee and coordinate activities of consultants, contractors, vendor personnel, and suppliers. Monitor contracts for compliance and control costs. Perform quality control inspections to ensure adherence to contract specifications and industry standards.
Research and Standards: Research, compose, and format content for all Interior Environments Standards to ensure a unified approach to quality, functionality, and longevity. Maintain broad knowledge of current and emerging products, materials, and design trends.
Installation Management: Oversee or manage the planning and installation of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and art. May be responsible for or share responsibility for occupant move-in to new or renovated facilities.
Personnel Management: Manage and supervise personnel, including hiring and performance management. Provide guidance and training to personnel.
Budget Assistance: Assist in the annual budget planning process. Monitor all project-related purchases and perform monthly purchase reconciliations. Receive and review pay requests from consultants, contractors, and vendors, and approve them for payment.
Miscellaneous Duties: Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or similar field
3+ years of professional experience in an Interior Design role
Higher Education experience
