Lead Medical Technologist

Insight Global is hiring for a Lead Medical Technologist to support one of South Jersey’s largest health systems. The lead will support both the hematology and blood bank teams. They provide direct support for a team of 2-3 MTs during the day shift, but support the team across all shifts for ensuring accuracy of duties. This role supports hematology and the blood bank by assisting technologists, working the bench, and providing oversight and technical expertise across all shifts. About half the time is spent off the bench ensuring smooth operations and assigning duties as needed. Core responsibilities include operating and troubleshooting lab equipment, performing accurate tests, validating results, and maintaining compliance through document review and policy updates. Additional tasks include supporting API and CAP surveys, monitoring coagulation QC, assisting with reagent studies, and using technologies like Sysmex (hematology) and Echo (blood bank). The position also involves training and onboarding staff, implementing new procedures, and participating in monthly leadership meetings. Strong organizational skills, Excel proficiency, clear communication, and integrity are essential.

• 3-5 years of experience as a medical technologist
• Experience in both Hematology and Blood Bank (able to work bench)
• EMR & Excel Experience
• bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science (MLS)
• Good communication, integrity, and leadership experience or qualities

• ASCP Certification
• Lead experience in the lab
