Job Description

An employer in the United States is seeking a Cabling Superintendent to travel to varies customer sites. This person will be responsible for overseeing all onsite structured cabling activities, including copper and fiber installations, terminations, testing, and labeling. Ensure adherence to design drawings, specifications, and industry standards (TIA, ANSI, BICSI). Coordinate cabling schedules with overall project timelines, manage resources, and monitor daily progress. Lead quality inspections, verify installation integrity, and approve test results (OTDR, PoE, etc.). Handle documentation, change orders, and closeout packages. Act as the primary technical liaison with clients, GCs, and other trades, ensuring safety compliance and effective coordination. Supervise and mentor field teams, maintain inventory, and drive continuous improvement in cabling practices and processes.

The hourly rate for this position is $35-37 based on several factors including experience, education, etc. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Required Skills & Experience

7 years of experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, low voltage construction

Prior experience in field leadership, superintendent, foreman, etc.

Hands-on technical competence in copper (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, etc.) and fiber (singlemode, multimode, splicing, terminations)

Deep familiarity with standards and best practices (TIS-568, TIA-569, TIA-606, ANSI/TIA, BICSI, etc.)

Experience with testing and certification equipment (optical test gear, cable certifiers, OTDRs, etc.) and interpreting test results

Must be willing to travel 90% of the time
