Job Description

One of Insight Global's medical device manufacturing clients is hiring two Field Service Engineers to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of its bioprocessing and diagnostic equipment at customer sites worldwide. These are hands‑on, customer‑facing roles within a small, close‑knit service organization.
This position is mechanically driven, with strong electrical and PLC troubleshooting components. Field Service Engineers work both onsite at customer facilities and at the West Caldwell office when not traveling (no remote option).

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of hands‑on Field Service, Maintenance, or Engineering experience
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills on complex equipment
• Solid electrical troubleshooting experience (wiring, sensors, motors)
• Experience installing, servicing, and repairing equipment in the field
• Ability to read electrical schematics and assembly drawings
• Comfortable measuring voltage, current, and continuity
• Practical PLC/HMI exposure (setup, diagnostics; not automation design)
o Preferred PLC brands: GE (Emerson), Allen-Bradely, Siemens
o PLC/HMI interaction and setup with customer systems
• Field wiring experience with pumps, motors, valves, and sensors
• Strong root cause analysis skills
• Comfortable in customer‑facing environments
• Willing to travel 30–50%, including internationally
• Able to work in cleanroom environments (PPE/gowning)
• Valid passport or passport‑eligible
Lives within ~1 hour of West Caldwell, NJ

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· Experience in pharma, biotech, or medical device environments
· Familiarity with centrifuges or bioprocessing equipment
· Background in mechanical, electro‑mechanical, or mechatronics roles
· HVAC or industrial maintenance background transitioning to field service
· Prior experience in a travel‑heavy field service role
Strong documentation, communication, or mentoring skills
