A client in South Plainfield, NJ is looking to bring on a wastewater treatment technician to join their team. This will be a permanent position, working on a swing shift Monday-Friday 10am-6pm schedule with some weekends if needed. They will be working alongside the lab and environmental team, maintenance team, and chemical handlers. Their main responsibility is to operate the wastewater systems as well as perform routine maintenance as needed. This role is full time, paying $18-19/hr.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Maintain and troubleshoot the solids handling process, chemical feed systems, and dewatering equipment
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of all wastewater pits such as cleaning, adjustment of pumps/valves, gauge readings, etc.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and adhering to all safety rules/regulations

- High school diploma or GED required, associate degree preferred.
- Background in chemical, wastewater preferred
- Hands-on experience with meters, gauges, and instruments
- Experience working in a typical treatment plant, pump station, or related maintenance setting
- Experience working in confined spaces for an extended period of time
- Ability to lift and maneuver equipment/materials up to 50 lbs.
