A large life sciences client of ours is looking for an analytical polymer chemist to join an analytical characterization group within the company's R&D organization. This individual will be responsible for performing gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and inherent viscosity (IV) analysis of various polymer products and HPLC analysis of small organic compounds, additives, degradation products and impurities in complex polymer matrices. This position will entail the development and validation of analytical methods and this individual is responsible for maintaining good documentation and lab notebooks. 70% of his role is lab based (hands-on) and 30% is documentation.

-PhD in Chemistry or related scientific discipline or MS Degree with 3+ years of industry experience
-Education or industry experience in polymer required
-In-depth understanding and hands-on experience of GPC, HPLC and other chromatographic
-Technical writing skills, effective communication and interpersonal/teamwork skills
Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing
-GCP Experience
