Job Description

The Senior Packaging Engineer leads end‑to‑end packaging development programs from concept through commercialization, partnering closely with cross‑functional teams to support innovation and lifecycle management initiatives. The role focuses on packaging solutions for consumer health, OTC, and dentistry products, ensuring packaging performance, quality, cost, sustainability, and timing objectives are met across multiple business units.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience in consumer-packaged goods (CPG) environments
• 5-8+ years of packaging development experience
• End‑to‑end packaging development experience (primary, secondary, and tertiary)
• Experience leading packaging programs from concept through manufacturing launch and commercialization
• Hands‑on experience developing and qualifying packaging for consumer health / OTC / dentistry products
• Experience with packaging types including:

HDPE and blow‑through (BT) bottles
Tubes
Dosage pumps and nasal spray systems
Blister packaging
Displays and secondary packaging
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
• Experience designing, planning, and executing packaging testing, line trials, and commercialization activities
• Ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projects
• Experience developing component specifications and technical documentation
• Hands‑on evaluation of packaging in lab, warehouse, and manufacturing environments
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration and communication skills
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to engineers or technicians

• Experience supporting OTC and dentistry product lines
• Experience leading packaging projects in plant‑based manufacturing environments
• Lean Six Sigma Certification
• Experience with DOE, SPC, FMEA, and Lean Six Sigma principles
• Microsoft Project experience

• MiniTab experience
• Agile experience
• CAD experience
• Experience supporting cost‑savings, value‑engineering, and sustainability initiatives
