Python Developer

We’re looking for a Python-focused Software Developer with AWS experience to help build and enhance financial trading applications for a commercial banking organization. This role is centered on software engineering: designing and developing backend services, building data-driven features, writing clean and testable code, and supporting trading workflows where performance, accuracy, and reliability matter.
In addition, this developer should be SQL-strong for data modeling and structuring, and AI-savvy—comfortable using modern coding assistants (e.g., Copilot or Claude) to accelerate development while maintaining strong engineering judgment.

Build and maintain Python backend services that support trading workflows, market data processing, and downstream financial operations.
Design and implement RESTful APIs / service layers to integrate trading applications with internal platforms and data sources.
Write and optimize SQL (queries, joins, aggregation, indexing considerations) to support data structuring, reporting, and application data access patterns.
Collaborate with product/business stakeholders and engineers to translate requirements into robust application features and enhancements.
Use AI coding tools (e.g., Copilot or Claude) effectively for scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, and documentation—without compromising code quality or security.
Support application deployment in AWS (as a consumer of platform patterns), focusing on building software rather than owning infrastructure operations.

- 5-7 years of strong Python software development experience building production applications/services
- Solid AWS experience deploying or running applications on AWS (e.g., EC2/Lambda/S3/RDS as applicable).
- Strong SQL skills for data structuring: writing complex queries, shaping datasets, and working with relational schemas (e.g., PostgreSQL).
- Backend/API engineering experience (REST/service patterns; modular, testable code).
- AI‑savvy developer mindset: experienced leveraging tools like Copilot or Claude to improve delivery speed and code quality.

- Experience supporting financial services applications (trading, fixed income, lending, risk, payments, etc.)
- Experience with Python web frameworks (e.g., FastAPI/Django) for service development.
