Job Description

Insight Global is hiring a AWS Data Engineer to support one of their largest financial industry clients. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining efficient, scalable, and reliable data architecture and code. You will develop robust data ingestion pipelines across AWS and on-prem environments, ensuring high performance, quality, and scalability of data engineering solutions. On a daily basis, you will contribute to architecture and system design discussions while also independently handling hands-on development and unit testing. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, QA, production operations, and other development teams, to deliver solutions across the full software development lifecycle. Additionally, you will help integrate individual components into complex enterprise systems, identify and resolve performance issues, participate in code reviews to ensure best practices and standards are met, and continuously stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent experience
• Strong experience designing and implementing data lakes, data warehouses, and end-to-end data solutions on AWS (ingestion, storage, processing, access)
• Hands-on experience building and supporting data ingestion pipelines in AWS environments
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and shell scripting
• Deep experience with core AWS data and application services (e.g., S3, Glue, Athena, EMR/Spark, Redshift, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, IAM, CloudFormation)
• Experience with serverless architecture and application development using AWS Lambda
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and system design
• Experience developing CI/CD pipelines and implementing DevOps best practices in data platforms
Experience migrating data from on-prem systems, APIs, and traditional databases to AWS (S3, RDS, Aurora, Redshift)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Familiarity with streaming and real-time data processing (e.g., Kinesis, Kafka, SQS)
Understanding of Lakehouse architecture and modern data platform concepts
