Job Description

We are seeking a Mortgage Default Audit & Issue Management Analyst to support internal and external audit activities within the mortgage default space at a leading financial institution. This role focuses on governance, issue management, and action plan execution in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong mortgage default knowledge, audit experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while partnering closely with internal stakeholders.

Support internal and external audits with a governance and risk management focus
Research and interpret GSE and default investor guidelines
Manage audit issues, including:

Tracking action plans and remediation efforts
Ensuring deadlines are met
Performing lookbacks and documentation reviews


Support process change implementation and quality assurance initiatives
Partner with internal stakeholders across the business to support audit and project needs
Analyze data and prepare insights to support audit findings and executive reporting
Operate in a dynamic, fluid team environment aligned to business priorities

Required Skills & Experience

3–5 years of relevant experience
Background in mortgage default and/or audit
Strong issue management experience
Knowledge of default investor guidelines
Proficiency in Excel (formulas, formatting, data analysis)
Strong communication skills, including comfort engaging with senior and executive stakeholders
Ability to adapt quickly to change and shifting priorities

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Foreclosure experience
Bankruptcy knowledge
Experience creating executive-level analysis and reporting
