Job Description

The Manufacturing Project Engineer is accountable for leading complex engineering and project management initiatives focused on cost reduction, process improvement and continuous improvement at a medical device manufacturing site. This role drives the end-to-end execution of projects and delivers engineering solutions across multiple disciplines. It includes ownership of project planning, execution, and process documentation. Ensures compliance with quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and safety regulations, policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities will include:

Leads end-to-end execution of projects at a manufacturing site, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, and budget.

Owns project scoping, detailed planning, resource allocation, and budget management.

Leads feasibility assessments and technical evaluations at the manufacturing site, identifying and developing innovative cost-saving opportunities.

Executes Manufacturing Work Orders (MWOs), engineering studies, and validation protocols with precision and compliance.

Manages procurement, installation, and commissioning of machinery and equipment, including full-scale process builds.

Provides technical leadership in process and machine design for process development initiatives.

Works with Plant engineers, management, vendors, consultants, and interfaces with other plants, platform teams, and sales & marketing on development, design, and fabrication of equipment or processes for new products and technologies.

Willing to travel to other manufacturing sites as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

BA/BS Degree - Engineering degree, Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing preferred. OR 10 years prior experience with HS Diploma/GED

3-5+ years of project management experience, medical device preferred

Hands‑on experience with process engineering, equipment design, manufacturing work order's, and validations

Hands‑on experience with custom automation, injection molding, and facilities modifications

Strong capability in writing capital proposals and managing capital/expense budgets

Experience creating integrated project schedules across multiple equipment streams

Proficiency with project management tools (Excel, MS Project, OnePlan preferred)
