Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Video Platform / Streaming Engineer to support a large, global media organization. This role focuses on the backend design, operation, and optimization of enterprise scale video streaming, ad insertion, and delivery workflows. The ideal candidate is a video systems specialist with strong experience across encoding, packaging, ad insertion, CDN delivery, and playback quality monitoring, rather than a traditional application developer.
• Support and enhance video CMS integrations, ensuring reliable ingestion, management, and publishing of video content
• Operate and optimize live and VOD encoding and packaging pipelines using AWS Media services
• Transcode ads using AWS MediaConvert, configuring jobs and specifications based on business and ad tech requirements
• Fine tune bitrate ladders, codecs, and encoding profiles (HEVC, AVC, HLG) to support new features and evolving playback needs
• Support and troubleshoot Dynamic Ad Insertion workflows, integrating FreeWheel metadata with SSAI and CSAI delivery models
• Monitor playback performance and QoS using Conviva Pulse, Grafana, and network level diagnostics
• Triage and resolve playback, streaming, and ad insertion issues across encoding, packaging, CDN, and player delivery
• Partner with video operations, ad tech, and platform teams to improve reliability, scalability, and end to end streaming workflows
• Contribute to the design and evolution of scalable backend video architectures, without a heavy emphasis on application code development
