Job Description

Key Responsibilities
• Provide Tier 1 operational support for IP-based broadcast distribution platforms
• Maintain and support cloud-enabled playout, transport, and monitoring systems
• Monitor, diagnose, and resolve on-air incidents using tools such as Splunk, Dataminer, TAG, and Media Proxy
• Support routing, orchestration, and control systems including:
o Appear DMG
o Nevion Video iPath
o Selenio Network Processor Manager
o TX Core
• Ensure end-to-end signal integrity, system availability, and service continuity
• Troubleshoot and support:
o Network-based video transport
o Encoding, multiplexing, and streaming workflows
o RF and managed network delivery paths
• Use AutoCAD schematics to trace signal paths, troubleshoot issues, and locate equipment within the Central Equipment Room (CER)
• Work with software-defined media networks and industry standards such as SMPTE 2110 and SMPTE 2022
• Perform diagnostics across broadcast hardware, and network devices
• Execute software upgrades, system expansions, and infrastructure improvements
• Support RTS intercom
• Escalate service-impacting events to Versant management per incident procedures
• Collaborate with L1, L2, and L3 NOC teams to resolve incidents and improve operational documentation
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and SOPs

Required Skills & Experience

- 3-5+ years of experience with Broadcast distribution engineering experience
- Experience supporting IP-based broadcast, cloud broadcast, or OTT distribution environments
- Knowledge of live linear, VOD, streaming, and simulcast delivery models
- Hands-on experience with broadcast monitoring, orchestration, and analytics platforms
- Ability to read and work off AutoCAD Design drawing
- Experience maintaining Appear DMG, Nevion Video iPath, TAG, Dataminer, Media Proxy, or RTS intercom systems
• Experience with Linux systems in operational environments
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, multicast, and media transport
• Exposure to virtualized infrastructure and cloud platforms (AWS or private cloud)
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and incident management skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a 24x7 NOC environment
