Job Description

This role will support governance and oversight of data center operations. Responsibilities include managing power, cooling, and space for hardware installations, facilitating hardware installation and decommissioning, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to meet expectations. Additional duties include managing inventory, conducting floor audits, and providing management with effective MI. This role also includes participation in an out-of-hours call-out rotation to escort vendors into the data center.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of experience as a Data Center Technician, Specialist, or similar titles
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite
• Experience working in a data center with 200+ racks
• Hands-on experience with installation, migration, and decommissioning of IT equipment in data centers (up to 5 years)
• Understanding of critical facility infrastructure (UPS, generators, RPPs, etc.)
• Familiarity with service management practices including Problem, Change, and Incident Management
• Knowledge of data network and cabling technologies, principles, and products
o Ability to run and test fiber optic and copper cables
o Experience removing and installing servers
o Skilled in patching environments
• General understanding of computer room layout and integration of modern server, storage, and network infrastructure
