Job Description

- Leading and managing network infrastructure decommissioning projects of varying scale and
complexity, from planning through final cutover and validation.
- Developing end-to-end decommissioning project plans including dependency mapping, circuit
inventory reconciliation, risk identification, cutover sequencing, and post-removal verification.
- Directing the decommissioning and disconnection of VZB circuits, legacy network elements,
and associated infrastructure to ensure complete and documented removal from the network.
- Coordinating circuit disconnect orders, tracking VZB billing cessation, and ensuring all
circuit-level dependencies are resolved prior to decommissioning cutover.
- Coordinating with network, IT, vendor, and contractor teams to ensure all decommissioning
prerequisites (traffic migration, re-homing, circuit disconnects, physical equipment removals) are
completed on schedule.
- Working with the program intake process to prioritize decommissioning work, assign tasks, and
drive delivery — holding all stakeholders accountable to commitments.
- Preparing presentations defining decommission scope, current state, milestone status, and
risk to ensure project benefits are achieved upon delivery.
- Performing Project Management activities including planning, sizing, defining units of work
delivery, configuration, resourcing, and scheduling.
- Providing leadership reporting on decommissioning project status via regular team status
reports and escalation summaries.
- Leading discussions on project status, risk management, change management, and problem
resolution — identifying and assigning actions for follow-up and/or leadership escalation.
- Managing multiple simultaneous decommissioning projects within scope, on time, and on
budget.
- Focusing on process improvement and minimizing customer experience impact throughout
decommissioning activities.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience as a PM
- Demonstrated experience managing network infrastructure decommissioning projects,
including client specific circuit disconnects and legacy platform retirement.
- Experience managing large multi-functional or enterprise-wide projects. - Familiarity with circuit inventory management, disconnect order processes, and billing
reconciliation for telecom circuits.
- Collaboration and communication skills with the ability to formulate communications
appropriate for all organizational levels.
