Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Safety Coordinator / EHS Specialist with 4+ years of experience supporting HVAC, controls, electrical, or industrial construction projects. This individual will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, conducting site audits, identifying hazards, and supporting field operations across multiple project sites. The ideal candidate is a hands-on safety professional with experience working around electrical systems, commissioning activities, HVAC installations, and construction environments. Responsibilities align with common EHS practices such as safety auditing, electrical safety, permit systems, contractor compliance, and risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly jobsite safety inspections for HVAC, controls, and electrical projects.
Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, new hire orientations, and ongoing safety training programs.
Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and site-specific safety planning.
Monitor compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, company policies, and customer safety requirements.
Support lockout/tagout (LOTO), energized work permitting, arc flash awareness, confined space entry, hot work, and fall protection programs.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety observations; develop corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain safety records, training documentation, inspection reports, and regulatory compliance logs.
Partner with project managers, field supervisors, electricians, controls technicians, and HVAC mechanics to proactively mitigate risk.
Conduct contractor and subcontractor safety audits and ensure compliance with site-specific requirements.
Support commissioning, startup, and electrical energization activities through safety oversight and hazard mitigation.
Track leading and lagging safety metrics and prepare reports for management.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement in safety initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience
4+ years of EHS, Safety Coordinator, or Safety Specialist experience in construction, electrical, controls, mechanical, or HVAC environments.
Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926 regulations.
Experience performing site audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
Familiarity with electrical safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and energized work controls.
Ability to work independently in active construction and industrial environments.
Strong communication, reporting, and training skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
OSHA 30 Construction Certification.
OSHA 510 or OSHA 500 certification.
CPR/First Aid certification.
CHST, ASP, CSP, or equivalent safety credential.
Experience supporting data centers, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, utilities, or mission-critical environments.
Knowledge of HVAC systems, building automation systems (BAS/BMS), PLC controls, and electrical infrastructure.
