As Resident Technician 3 will provide technical and leadership support for all material handling equipment. You will be focused on the Installation, repair and maintenance of automation equipment at a specific customer site or network of sites. You will also lead installations or support projects at customer sites as needed. Additional duties will include administrative tasks such as reports, inventory control, customer relations, facilitating cross training and mentorship.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise and leadership in the installation, support, and repairs of various material handling equipment. As needed, provide technical support by phone/ PC during non-office hours.
Identify equipment faults, develop, and implement fault resolution plans.
Communicate with customers and supervisors on equipment status, performance, and improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with FORTNA and the customer team to develop and implement equipment performance and reliably plans utilizing root cause analysis and performance observations.
Provided in-depth maintenance, repair and operational support to conveyor and sortation equipment operations to include removal, installation, startup, calibration, and functional utilization.
Solid understanding of controls systems, PLC, and communication networks.
Demonstrate detailed knowledge of industrial safety standards to include LOTO and PPE.
Readily available to go onsite for technical emergencies/ customer support at any time.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 2pm - 10:30pm
Travel Travel will be infrequent and limited travel outside of your site/region for the purposes of support/training.

Possess a technical degree or 4-5 years equivalent work experience, MSSC Certification in Network repair or Military training in the fields of electronic, radio, or mechanical systems in lieu of degree.
Experience troubleshooting Servo drives, PLC, PC controllers, DC power supplies, optical devices (i.e., encoders, photo eyes, etc.).
Electrical troubleshooting skills to include wiring, ac power, ac motors, electrical drawings/schematics, and control panels.
Ability to work alone and / or provide technical direction to team members.
Ability to utilize CMMS (computer maintenance management system).
Ability to obtain and maintain certification to operate various forklift equipment.
Perform root cause analysis utilizing strong problem-solving / trouble-shooting skills.
3 or more years experience leading teams.
Strong electrical mechanical background and ability to troubleshoot problems.
* Experience with Unitec palletizer and TGW conveyor
Mechanical experience with gearboxes, sprockets, chains, bearings, guide rollers, etc.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
Excellent customer service / interpersonal skills and possess a logical problem-solving mindset.
Must be self-motivated, detailed oriented and results focused.
Knowledge of conveying systems and MS Office products.
