Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Product Development Engineer for our client, an American manufacturer of luxury hot tubs, swim spas and pools, based out of Las Vegas, NV. This person will be responsible for leading the design, development, testing, and launch of new products, as well as sustaining engineering improvements for existing product lines. This role plays a key part in driving innovation, ensuring regulatory and UL compliance, and executing product development projects from concept through production. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in mechanical design, strong SolidWorks proficiency, and deep knowledge of industry standards and certification processes.

Essential Functions:
Product Development & Engineering Design
• Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle—from concept, feasibility, modeling, and prototyping to testing and final production release.
• Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and assemblies using SolidWorks (including simulations, FEA, GD&T, BOM creation, etc.).
• Develop and maintain product specifications, technical documentation, CAD models, and engineering change orders.

Testing, Validation & Compliance
• Ensure all new and modified products meet UL, CSA, CE, and other applicable regulatory and safety standards.
• Coordinate product testing, validation, and certification processes internally and with third-party labs.
• Conduct risk assessments (FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA) and lead corrective actions related to design, performance, and safety.

Project Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams involving manufacturing, sourcing, quality, marketing, and operations to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Manage product development timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
• Support vendor evaluations, material selection, and cost optimization initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or related field required.
- 6+ years of progressive product development or mechanical engineering experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or regulated industry (spa, appliance, consumer products, or electromechanical device industry required).
- Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles and quality systems (ISO, Six Sigma, Kaizen preferred).
- Demonstrated expertise in UL/compliance, electrical safety standards, and certification processes.
- Strong understanding of Platform manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, sheet metal, plastics, etc.).
- SolidWorks proficiency required.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and engineering documentation.
- Ability to conduct engineering calculations, tolerance stackups, thermal and structural analysis
