Job Description

This company is one of the country's leading renewable energy developers, with more than 25 GW of renewable projects in development across the United States and significant growth planned in the near future. We are seeking to bring on a Sr. Manager of Environmental Programs position. The focus of this position covers, site evaluation for, and successful permitting of, new development assets, including; thermal, solar, wind electric generation, battery storage, carbon sequestration, and hydrogen production. Other tasks will include assisting various internal departments to help ensure environmental compliance of operating energy assets, participating in due diligence on acquisition efforts, and maintaining environmental knowledge required to offer strategic direction and policy advocacy. The role will interact with plant and corporate operations, asset management, public relations, regulatory agencies, engineering, legal, and acquisition/development personnel. Some domestic travel to project sites, conferences, and counterparty offices will be required.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:

· Bachelor's degree in science/biological studies, environmental policy, or civil/environmental engineering

· 5-10 years of experience in environmental permitting, compliance, site development, and regulatory analysis

· Adaptability to the use of evolving software tools and of agency online reporting systems

· Familiarity with use and capabilities of GIS platforms

· Familiarity with structure of, and aptitude for, researching environmental statutes and regulations

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:

· Master's degree in science, environmental policy, or engineering and/or Law degree

· 10+ years of experience in site development, environmental review and analysis, permitting, compliance, and regulatory analysis specifically for fossil and renewable power generation and storage facilities

· Prior experience compiling applications for, and obtaining, key federal permits (particularly: Clear Air Act PSD, Clear Water Act Section 10/404 wetlands permits, EPA Class VI injection permits) and supporting any associated NEPA processes.
