Job Description
Insight Global is looking to hire a laboratory assistant for a client of ours in the North Platte, NE area. Below are general responsibilities.
• Specific Assignments
○ Curating & adding in media, petri film testing including counting colonies and entering data into the system.
○ Prepare test samples in accordance with standard operating procedure and applicable quality control procedures.
○ Clean workplace and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures and general housekeeping requirements.
○ Record supplies taken from stockroom in logbook, and note any supplies that may need ordering and/or rush delivery.
○ Maintain assigned equipment according to standard operating procedures. Perform any and all operational qualifications prior to analysis according to standard operating procedures.
Hourly rate for this position ranges between $16.00-$17.00 and is dependent on experience and skillset.

Required Skills & Experience
• Basic knowledge of laboratory practices or willingness to be trained.
• Reliability.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Attention to detail, excellent work ethic, self sufficient mindset.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in plating, plate reading, and sample preparation.
• Prior experience in a laboratory or processing environment is preferred but not required.
• AS or BS Degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
