Job Description
The Databricks Principal SA is the senior technical authority for our Databricks practice. They own solution architecture across engagements, set engineering standards for the FDE team, and serve as the technical face of the practice to Databricks and clients.
Design Databricks architectures for client engagements across Unity Catalog, Genie, Lakebase, Delta Lake, Mosaic AI, Lakeflow, MLflow, Vector Search, and Feature Store.
Assess feasibility, design solutions, scope effort, and represent our technical capability to Databricks and clients.
Design agent workflows for client delivery. Build agent-assisted development practices for the team. Push toward 1:10 engineer-to-output ratio.
Set reference architectures, delivery patterns, and quality bar across all Databricks engagements
Be the person Databricks field SAs and product teams call for partner-side technical perspective

Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years in data engineering with recent experience in agentic engineering
• Databricks platform depth: Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Mosaic AI, Lakeflow, MLflow, Vector Search, Feature Store. Built real systems, not just certifications.
• AI-first development fluency: Already using Claude Code, Cursor, or similar. Can design multi-agent workflows on Databricks.
• Pre-sales experience: Designed architectures, scoped engagements, and won work based on technical credibility with both clients and Databricks.
• Consulting background: Understands scoping, estimation, staffing, delivery, and client dynamics in professional services.
• People leadership: Has managed or led technical teams. Mentors through doing.
• Multi-audience communication: Can explain a medallion architecture to a CTO and then optimize Spark jobs with the engineering team.
• Databricks Champion or Professional certification
