Job Description
A global Life Sciences organization is hiring a LIMS Business Analyst within their technology group, in Kansas City. This organization is an industry leader in Scientific Testing for food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics worldwide.
The IT LIMS Business Analyst, sitting in the IT organization, will play an instrumental role in the implementation of LIMS system at their US Clinical Diagnostics laboratories. The Analyst will be involved from initial concept through final implementation, including requirements gathering, design, testing and implementation. The BA is responsible for the documentation and execution of test plans for the delivered functionality while supporting the business through the implementation process. The BA will work cross functionally with their peers based across the US and India, and alongside business stakeholders working in the Clinical Labs. Having clear and direct communication skills is imperative for a smooth process as they consult with different areas of the business.
Responsibilities:
* Track and fully document test cases to validate requirements are met using best practice standards developed by the Business Analysis team.
* Participate in direct observations with business resources to understand workflows as part of the project timeline.
* Actively participate in testing of new and enhanced system functionality and capture issues found in testing in a documentation repository.
* Document requirements, test cases, issues, and testing evidence using a documentation repository.
* Actively participate in user acceptance testing of new and enhanced system functionality.
* Act as a liaison between departmental end-users, technical analysts, and consultants in the SDLC to ensure optimal operational performance.
Work with other Business Analysts. Developers, Project Management, Test Engineers and Lab validation team to develop best practice standard of documenting business processes, requirements and test cases.
* Train lab resources to use lab's applications and new functionality.
Support the laboratory validation of the new developed functionality.
* Travel to the lab sites and work with the local teams to perform the LIS/LIMS implementation
This role required travel to the Kansas City lab location with frequency in Q2, and travel will taper off to "as needed" throughout the remainder of the year. If you are looking to be a critical stakeholder in a new LIMS system implementation with a robust global IT team, let's chat!
Required Skills & Experience
* 7+ years in a Business Analysis role
* Scientific Background
* BS degree in biological, physical, chemical, clinical laboratory science
* or an associate degree in medical laboratory technology and/or equivalent work experience.
* Understanding of lab operations and functions
* Experience with LIMS systems
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Knowledge on any UI mock creation tools and SOA is advantageous
