A client of Insight Global in the government sector is looking to add 8 Senior Engineering Technicians to their Public Works department. This candidate will be working on a variety of city-wide projects relating to asphalt overlay, sidewalk repair/reconstruction, curb control, erosion and traffic control, etc. The ideal candidate will be experienced with construction inspection and have solid project management skills. This engineering technician will work closely with a variety of construction contracting groups in order to facilitate timely and efficient completion of projects. The contracting crews are responsible for milling, paving, tear out, pull back and form of the asphalt or concrete and can be anywhere from 6-15 people. The main responsibility of the engineering tech will be to facilitate daily activities and objectives with the crew through communicating with the superintendent. While the crew superintendent is directing the contractors, the engineering tech will be on the job site to track daily progress, document observations and ensure the crews are working within the project specifications. Other responsibilities include:
Supervise and participate in preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, ordinances, studies, utility relocation determinations and other activities related to right-of-way matters.
Supervise in-process and final inspection of assigned projects.
Review and check preliminary and final plans for a variety of public works projects and structures.

Can take candidates with less YOE (closer to 5) if they have engineering/construction degree or certs listed below
Valid drivers license and clean record
