Job Description
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering or a related field
8+ years of experience in data modeling with expertise in enterprise data warehouse and analytics
Expertise in dimensional modeling methodologies (Kimball star/snowflake schemas, conformed dimensions, slowly changing dimensions)
Familiarity with Data Vault 2.0 or normalized modeling approaches
Advanced experience with SQL
Modern dialects for Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks SWL, DAX and Power Query
Hands on experience with cloud data platforms
Databricks, snowflake, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse or AWS Redshift
Strong experience with Semantic layer platforms
Understanding of ELT/ETL patterns
Experience with data catalogs and lineage tools (Alation, Collibra, Atlan, or similar) for documentation
Git for version control and familiar with Ci/CD concepts

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Data Modeler local to Kansas City, MO to work onsite for our engineering client. The Senior Data Modeler will be responsible for designing, developing and optimizing data models that power enterprise analytics, reporting, AI/ML initiatives, and data products. This person should have deep expertise in dimensional modeling, semantic layer design, and modern data architecture patterns. Our ideal candidate should have experience translating business requirements into scalable, governed data structures. You will work with data engineering teams, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to align with the enterprise data strategy. You will design and implement dimensional models, build and optimize semantic models, lead the migration of legacy models to modern cloud based semantic layers, design event schemas, and more. This role is a contract with the potential to hire.
