Job Description

A growing Midwest civil construction company is seeking to add an estimator to their team in Kansas City. With a field operations team of over 200 employees, an ideal Project Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are completed efficiently and on time. This person will join a team of 6 other projects managers and collaborate frequently with other construction groups ranging from estimators and field personnel all the way up to VP executive leadership. 80% of the time spent in this role will take place in an office environment dealing with project forecasting, budget management, project controls and scheduling. Being able to manage multiple projects at a time will be crucial for success in this position. Projects all fall into the heavy civil/horizontal construction field with work relating to utilities and grading (grading and concrete paving for warehouses, multi-family housing, municipality and small DOT work, etc.). This PM will ideally have experience working on highways and roads, bridges, solar farms, municipalities, etc. Responsibilities include:
Manage all aspects of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control
Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and progress reports
Collaborate with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project success
Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in Project Management within Civil Construction industry (horizontal construction)
Would go lower for someone with engineering degree, civil highly preferred
BS degree in Construction Management or Engineering

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Civil Engineering degree
Previous experience working as an estimator
