Insight Global is looking for a Platform Engineer to work hybrid for one of our client's in the Kansas City area. This person will fit into a team of 3 other platform engineers. This person will work alongside the platform engineer that is more focused on Kubernetes and infrastructure as code. This person will jump into helping building out the infrastructure. Production is close to ready but there are final building blocks that will need to be worked on. This person will not come into something that is completely set in stone, it is hoped that you will come in and give input on how to structure things. If this person comes from a DevOps background, then they could get involved in automation along with infrastructure as code. This person will be partially responsible for monitoring the Kubernetes environment and on call for supporting Kubernetes, long term, this responsibility will move to a different team. Having experience with the hybrid cloud will add value in sense of bringing cloud functionality down to the infrastructure. This will change their approach to how they manage servers and their overall approach.

3+ years of experience as a platform engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role
Experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex infrastructure solutions in a cloud based environment
AWS, Azure, or GCP - the client is in an azure cloud environment with some existing in AWS
Azure HCI or hybrid cloud (on prem and cloud experience) ; migrating systems to a hybrid cloud set up
Ability to troubleshoot issues related to the platforms infrastructure and applications
Experience with DevOps tools and practices such as:
infrastructure as code such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef
Kubernetes
Load balancing - they should know this if they have Kubernetes
Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
Hands on experience with SSL, OAuth, and SSO
building out servers in a module way and handling these tools
Role based access controls (RBAC) and encryption
