Job Description

An employer is looking to add an Azure GovCloud Engineer to their team. This person will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and managing secure Azure GovCloud environments, ensuring all solutions are CMMC Level 2 compliant and meet federal security standards.
They will design and deploy Azure GovCloud infrastructure using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring CMMC L2 controls, manage Azure GovCloud services (IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudTrail, GuardDuty) with a focus on compliance, and automate provisioning and enforce security, compliance, and governance policies per CMMC L2. They will collaborate with teams for secure application deployment and platform scalability, and troubleshoot infrastructure issues and optimize for performance and compliance. This person will be responsible for providing architectural guidance for secure, scalable, and resilient Azure GovCloud solutions, and designing and implementing secure networking, high availability, and disaster recovery for government workloads.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of Azure infrastructure engineering (preferably in government or regulated sectors)
Proficiency with Terraform/CloudFormation, Python/Bash, and DevOps tools (CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitLab)
Strong understanding of Azur networking, IAM, and security best practices for government workloads
Experience with container orchestration (EKS, ECS) in regulated environments

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Active Secret clearance
Azure Professional Certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
Experience with hybrid/multi-cloud in government settings
Familiarity with AWS GovCloud, FedRAMP, and CMMC frameworks
Strong communication/documentation skills for compliance
Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to secure platform strategy
