- Collaborate with the Company Certifying NDT Level III to establish inspection, testing, and evaluation methods for product precision and accuracy.
- Assist in identifying root causes of failures in reported field issues related to products and components.
- Ensure the accurate collection and interpretation of data to support corrective action recommendations.
- Work alongside the Company Certifying NDT Level III to develop and maintain procedures, test systems, and instruments for nondestructive testing/inspection.
- Train and qualify NDT personnel to maintain certification standards.
- Evaluate engineering drawings and advise design engineers on appropriate NDE/NDT methods for various production stages.
- Maintain knowledge of required NDT methods per drawing specifications for welded joints in accordance with AWS D17.1, D1.1, D.1.6, D1.2, and NAVSEA TechPubs.
- Participate in functional testing and inspection of equipment and systems.
- Audit supplier NDE/NDT programs to identify and rectify deficiencies.
- Implement solutions for complex issues occurring internally and at vendor facilities.
- Prepare statistical analysis reports, specifications, and technical documents, and deliver presentations as needed.
- Interpret and adapt quality standards and government regulations.
- Engage in fracture/failure investigations and Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) analysis.
- Conduct incoming material/part inspections as required.
- Generate non-conformance reports, material rejections, and corrective action reports, communicating final acceptance test results to customers.
- Maintain comprehensive files of quality and as-built information for each product.
- Represent the organization in addressing designer specifications or technical issues for specific projects.
- Uphold ethical and safe working practices in alignment with established procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
