Job Description

Job Description:
The Safety Specialist position will be responsible for ensuring that all safety standards are met within the company.

Job Responsibilities:
Maintains records and files of all surveys, inspections, and incidents to assure compliance with corporate, state, and federal requirements pertaining to reporting hazardous incidents, motor vehicle accidents and personal injuries
Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
Provide safety training and education to employees
Investigate accidents and incidents to determine their causes
Recommend corrective actions to prevent future incidents
Prepare and present safety reports to management
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards for both Subcontractors and in-house employees
Participates in selected OSHA and Safety Certification courses as directed by Management
Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary
Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Assist in developing emergency response plans

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum of 3 years experience in safety-related role and 2 years of telecom experience
OSHA 30 Certification
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language is required
Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time
Must possess knowledge of safety and equipment specific to the communications industry.
Must be available after hours, holidays & weekends
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations
Knowledge of safety inspection and auditing techniques
Physical ability to perform inspections in various environments
Basic understanding of first aid and emergency response procedures
