We are seeking a motivated and versatile software development engineer to join our Programmer Software Design team. This role is focused on designing new software features on Programmers of implantable cardiac pulse generators in addition to maintenance and improvements to existing applications. The features and apps developed by this engineer directly impact the quality of care for patients and the quality of work should reflect this. These products deliver a state-of-the-art experience for both patients and healthcare practitioners alike.
Your responsibilities include:
* Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, tests software programs using current object-oriented design methodologies and technologies.
* Primary expertise in Java including both UI design and business logic implementation with supplemented by C++, Perl, Python, and shell scripting.
* Follows work instructions and procedures to effectively document software and test development
* Tracks software development effort by creating and maintaining records in the approved configuration management tool.
* Analyzes and solves engineering problems, recommending corrective or alternative actions where appropriate.
* Evaluates and verifies requirements, software, and systems by using software engineering practices.
* Continuously improves process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross-functional groups and analyzing activities to improve workflow and work processes.
* Directs support personnel and project activities when necessary.
* In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
