Infrastructure Engineer

A software development and IT support consulting company of ours is looking for a jack of all trades Infrastructure Engineer to join them for a long term contract that could turn into a full time role in the future. This person will handle everything from tier 1 support up to high level engineering projects. They have clients all over the area and there will be in person meetings so someone local to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area is required. The main role of this position to ensure stability, security, and efficiency to their clients' network infrastructures. This role will get at least 32 hours a week but will need to be prepared for more than that based on need.

Responsibilities and duties include:
Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify,
communicate, and resolve highly advanced complex issues in support of business processing
requirements.
Anticipate and mitigate potential attacks through network or other connections to ensure the
security of the system.
Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their architecture
framework.
Sustain the necessary data throughput rate by monitoring networking activity and maintaining
existing equipment.
Respond to network connectivity issues and resolve any wireless communication issues.
Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors.
Design, configure, and install various network devices and services, from routing, switching,
and firewalls, etc.
Analyze anticipated bandwidth consumption for new clients.
Set scope and timelines of medium to large scale complex projects.
Prioritize and manage competing demands and tasks.
Successfully manage multiple engagements that may require additional resources.
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness,
approval, and success of changes.
Complete other tasks/projects as required or by request, under the direction of the CEO.

We are looking to pay $40/hr and up based on experience for this role.

Strong network architecture and deployment background
Windows 10 and Windows 11
Office 365 proficiency required
OneDrive & SharePoint setup & maintenance proficiency required
VPN setup
macOS

Networking certifications (CCIE/CCNP)
Cloud background (Azure preferred)
Meraki specific networking background
Cyber security software experience (Keeper)
