Job Description

The I&E Technician at CF Industries Incumbents in this position are responsible for troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance on Instrument & Electrical equipment at all DF terminals. Proper performance of the incumbent results in minimum downtime during product shipping seasons. Travel to out-of-state, overnight locations is required regularly and accounts for 60 75% of time annually. Travel is contingent on candidates location but is weekly.
Performs maintenance activity on key equipment at Distribution Facilities with special focus on I&E components related to PLCs, pumps, LPSTs, compressors, pressure vessels, vibration monitoring, oil analysis, and rotating equipment.
Provide technical expertise and recommendations in support of all maintenance related inspections and projects.
Repairs Instrument & Electrical equipment throughout Distribution Facilities.
Is readily available to address I&E maintenance needs of each facility. This includes telephone consultation and travel to facilities to perform repairs on equipment in routine and emergency situations.
Ensures timely and cost-effective completion of repairs and maintenance on all facility equipment.
Periodically provides on-site training for Distribution personnel in areas of I&E associated inspections and maintenance activity.
Works closely with each Distribution Facility in the development of proper maintenance activities. This includes programmed maintenance plans, record keeping practices and emergency actions.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date maintenance records
Provides input and analysis on proper maintenance to all equipment.
Identifies like or recurring maintenance issues and looks for solutions.
Communicates maintenance activities and terminal status to Supt, I&E Maintenance and to the terminal facility superintendents.
Assist I&E Project Coordinators on large upgrade projects.

Required Skills & Experience

l Equivalent of 5 years of experience in Instrument & Electrical systems in industrial settings, or related work.
l Knowledge of high and low voltage equipment
l Ability to read, interpret and redline electrical drawings and procedures
l Prior project management experience.
l Good communication and interpersonal skills.
l Ability to obtain a passport and/or a temporary residence permit to travel to Canada on an as-needed basis.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Undergraduate technical degree
- Background in instrumentation and controls with emphasis on PLC/HMI installations.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
