Insight Global is seeing a Category Manager to join one of our manufacturing clients here in Minnesota. This resource will drive global sourcing strategies for castings by partnering with key stakeholders to align supply chain initiatives with production, new product development, and R&D objectives. They will establish and manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure consistent performance, achieve productivity goals, and mitigate supply chain risks, as well as lead contract negotiations and oversee project implementation across functional teams. This person will serve an important role in cost saving initiatives and serve as a subject matter expert in castings and manufacturing processes, collaborating with Engineering to shape sourcing roadmaps and influence technical decisions. Finally, they will conduct supplier evaluations, lead RFQs, and manage strategic agreements to ensure supply continuity. This role is required to sit in either Rogers, MN or Minneapolis, MN and required to go on-site 5 days per week.

-Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Management, Supply Chain or equivalent required.
-5+ years of experience within category management and strategic sourcing, preferably within an industrial company
Experience in developing and executing commodity strategies
-Demonstrated experience and results in negotiating with suppliers on master supply agreements, inventory agreements, and cost saving initiatives
-Ability to read and comprehend engineering blueprints and specifications.
-Practical experience working in ERP or other business planning system
