Job Description

An employer is looking for a Sr. Project Manager for one of our top utility clients in the Nation. This Project Manager is accountable for the on-time, on-budget delivery of a complex software implementation projects. The PM is responsible for planning the work, managing a cross-functional team comprised of employees, contractors and vendors at distributed work locations, mitigating issues and risks, and communicating status. The PM is also responsible for forecasting costs, tracking actuals, and explaining variances. We are looking for someone who has a proven track record managing complex projects with layers of high visibility, vendor and SI management, and multi-year commitments.

Required Skills & Experience

- Minimum 10 years of project management experience
- Experience with management of a $3M project budget or greater.
- Background with large software implementations and deployments and any COTS project background
- Proven experience managing requirements specification, design activities, prototype development, testing and final deployment.
- Proven vendor management experience including leading RFP's, SOW creation, financial control, and aggressively driving vendor to meet date and budget commitments.
- Experience in managing project budget forecasts and actuals.
- Comfortability working in a waterfall environment
