Job Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Data Governance Consultant to support the continued expansion of enterprise data governance capabilities across the organization. This role will play a critical part in advancing governance maturity, driving adoption beyond core data platforms, and enabling business-led data quality initiatives—particularly in support of AI and advanced analytics efforts.
This is a high-impact, highly visible role requiring strong leadership presence, the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders, and deep, hands-on expertise in Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC) and modern metadata management practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead enterprise-wide data governance strategy execution across business and technology teams
• Drive adoption of governance standards, policies, and frameworks across a federated operating model
• Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to data stewards, domain leads, and cross-functional stakeholders
• Define and govern:
o Authoritative data sources
o Business glossaries, data definitions, and standards
o Data quality rules, KPIs, and scorecards
• Partner with business leaders to shift data quality ownership to domain teams, ensuring alignment with governance practices
• Facilitate governance councils, domain working groups, and decision-making forums
• Lead resolution of data conflicts across definitions, sourcing, lineage, and business rules
• Drive metadata management and data lineage initiatives, ensuring transparency and traceability
• Collaborate with data quality teams to:
o Conduct assessments and audits
o Identify gaps and risks
o Implement remediation strategies aligned to business priorities
• Act as a liaison between business and technology teams to ensure clear translation of data requirements
• Support AI enablement efforts by ensuring governed, high-quality, and well-documented data assets
• Lead training, enablement, and change management efforts to improve governance adoption
• Contribute to ongoing evaluation and optimization of governance tools and platforms

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years of experience working with data, data management, or data platforms
• Strong specialization in data governance (not generalist data roles)
• 4–6+ years of hands-on experience in:
o Metadata management
o Data lineage and cataloging
o Data quality frameworks and remediation
o Data governance operating models and frameworks
• Recent, hands-on experience with Informatica (REQUIRED)
o Strong preference for Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC)
• Deep understanding of the end-to-end data lifecycle
• Proven ability to lead, influence, and coach enterprise stakeholders
• Experience working in cross-functional, federated environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both business and technical audiences
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate discussions, drive alignment, and manage competing priorities
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in financial services or highly regulated environments
• Background with governance tools and platforms (Informatica, Collibra, Purview, etc.)
• Experience with:
o Data classification and privacy frameworks
o Regulatory and compliance-driven governance
o Business rule management
• Exposure to AI/ML initiatives supported by governed data environments
• Experience helping organizations scale or mature data governance programs
