Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join the team of a local medical device client on their mobile engineering team. This role combines strong software development expertise with a deep focus on quality engineering and automated testing. The SDET will contribute to both functional and non-functional testing efforts, ensuring high-quality, reliable mobile applications. Functional testing is driven by acceptance criteria and user stories and focuses on validating application behavior against defined requirements, while also supporting broader quality objectives across the development lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience
• 3 - 6+ years of progressive software development experience
• 2+ years of hands-on mobile app development experience in Flutter and/or iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin), contributing to production codebases
• 2+ years designing and implementing automated tests for mobile applications (unit + UI/widget + integration), including test maintenance and reliability improvements
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, state management, and data flow, and ability to apply that understanding to improve testability and reliability
• Able to read, reason about, contribute to production code and provide code review feedback
• Ability to design meaningful, deterministic tests aligned to requirements and risk controls
• Skilled in unit, widget/UI, integration, and end to end test approaches
• Experience building reliable mobile automation (e.g., Flutter integration tests, simulators/mocks, and/or API automation)
• Experience integrating test execution into CI/CD and improves the pipeline signal (e.g., reducing flakiness, stabilizing environments/data)
• Ability to produce clear, complete verification evidence suitable for audits (objective evidence, clear steps, expected results)
• Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, ADO, Agile/Scrum)
• Medical device/SaMD background (regulated mobile preferred)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with BrowserStack
• Experience with Cloud development in Azure
• Knowledge of healthcare industry standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA compliance, IEC 62304)
• Experience with BLE interaction testing (pairing, reconnect, retries, error states) and diagnosing failure modes across mobile to embedded device to cloud boundaries
• Familiarity with structured verification workflows and tooling (e.g., test management, traceability systems)
