Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Systems Engineering Technician to join a team focused on calibrating, testing, and verifying advanced mechanical test systems before delivery to customers. This hands-on role requires technical expertise, strong collaboration skills, and a proactive work ethic to ensure systems meet strict performance and quality standards.

This individual will calibrate and test frames, perform electrical and hydraulic hookups, troubleshoot system performance, and maintain accurate documentation. Additional responsibilities include supporting process improvements and working closely with engineers and other technicians. This is a direct-hire, on-site position with a flexible schedule of four 10-hour shifts. The role offers long-term growth and the opportunity to work on industry-leading technology used globally in automotive, aerospace, civil engineering, and materials science applications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Calibrate and test mechanical systems and components prior to shipment
- Perform electrical hookups (low voltage), computer connections, and sensor calibration
- Connect/disconnect hydraulic systems and verify performance
- Install load cells on frames and confirm accurate operation
- Execute calibration on every unit and maintain documentation
- Troubleshoot hydraulic power units (HPUs) and system operation
- Update BOMs and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve issues
- Support process improvement initiatives
- Minimal travel (approx. 10% optional international assignments)

Required Skills & Experience

- 4 years of experience building, calibrating, and testing mechanical systems
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Strong drive, leadership capacity, and ability to work independently
- 1+ years of experience working with hydraulic systems
- Skilled in using precision tools and measurement instruments for calibration and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with electrical hookups (low voltage) and computer-based calibration tools
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and resolve technical issues

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with process improvement or quality initiatives
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Technical degree in hydraulics or electrical engineering
