We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Wireless Firmware Engineer to join a globally growing wireless firmware organization. This individual will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of wireless firmware for next-generation hearing aid platforms, with a focus on Bluetooth and wireless communication technologies. The role requires deep expertise in embedded firmware development, wireless protocols, system-level debugging, and cross-functional collaboration.
This engineer will serve as a foundational member of Starkey's India-based wireless firmware team and will have the opportunity to grow into a technical leadership role as the team expands. The position will work closely with U.S.-based firmware and verification teams to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions that improve product performance, robustness, and user experience.

Required Skills & Experience
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, Master's degree, or PhD in a related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years with an MSEE, or 4+ years with a PhD.
• Expert-level knowledge of Bluetooth Core Specifications, including: GAP, GATT, L2CAP, ATT, SMP, Link Layer Protocols
• Strong embedded firmware development experience.
• Experience with wired communication interfaces and related protocols.
• Experience with firmware test methodologies, tools, and verification strategies.
• Strong proficiency in C programming and embedded development.
• Proven experience driving root cause analysis of complex wireless issues using protocol traces, logs, and over-the-air sniffing tools.
• Strong experience with RTOS environments and low-level hardware/software integration.
• Proficiency with Python or other scripting languages.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) firmware development and optimization.
• NFMI (Near-Field Magnetic Induction) wireless technology experience.
• Experience optimizing wireless protocol performance, power consumption, latency, and throughput.
• Analog and digital circuitry knowledge.
• Experience programming DSPs and microcontrollers.
• Experience working in medical devices, hearing technology, wearable devices, wireless audio, IoT, or other embedded wireless systems.
• Leadership or mentoring experience within technical engineering teams.
