Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Machinist to perform precision machining operations that meet quality and schedule requirements. This role involves setting up and operating machines, interpreting prints, and inspecting parts to ensure accuracy. You’ll work in a collaborative job shop environment with opportunities to learn multiple disciplines and grow your skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate machines efficiently across various machining disciplines
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform preventative maintenance
- Inspect parts to verify dimensions and meet tolerance standards
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Operate equipment safely and report hazards promptly
- Participate in cross-training and support process improvement
- Identify hazards with a safety-first mindset
- Interest in continuous improvement and process innovation

Required Skills & Experience
- 1 year of trade school or 3 years of hands-on machine shop experience
- 2 years of experience as a Machinist or CNC Machinist (not machine operator or press operator)
- Ability to read and interpret machining prints and meet tolerance requirements
- Knowledge of machine setup, tooling selection, and measuring equipment
- Understanding of material properties and proper machining techniques
- Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience in a job shop environment (variety of machines and parts)
- Familiarity with CNC Lathe/Mill, grinding, and manual machining
- Experience with maintenance
