Job Description
One of Insight Global's largest PBM Clients is seeking a highly skilled API Developer to join the Shared Services / API Team. This person will support ongoing API maintenance, production support, and small enhancements while helping prepare the team for a major cloud transformation. The role is remote and expected to run through the end of the year, with long‑term integration support continuing into 2027.
The developer will work closely with the tech lead and two additional developers, supporting gateways, integrations, and API environments used internally—including by the Judi platform. Strong communication and reliability are critical, as prior backfills struggled significantly in these areas.
Develop, maintain, and enhance APIs
Support and maintain WSO2 gateways and related integrations.
Execute small-to-medium enhancements to existing APIs.
Assist with production support:
Participate in on-call escalations for P1/P2 issues.
Troubleshoot issues using tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace.
Provide clear and timely root cause analysis.
Contribute to Java version upgrades
Prepare for and participate in cloud transformation efforts.
Work with Spring Boot and Java microservices for new and existing API development.

Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 5+ years of experience (Senior-level).
Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Java microservices.
Solid experience consuming and building APIs.
Experience supporting and maintaining WSO2 gateways or similar API gateway technologies.
Experience with KONG (actively used).
High reliability in production support:
Handling P1/P2 issues.
Troubleshooting production systems.
Strong experience with monitoring/diagnostic tools:
Splunk
Dynatrace
Experience supporting cloud transformation prep work.
Experience upgrading Java codebases (legacy to current versions).
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Cloud transformation experience, especially with AWS (primary target).
Experience with GCP or Azure (team uses all three to some extent).
Understanding of API strategy in cloud-native environments.
Prior experience supporting integrations used by large internal platforms
Previous experience with organizations transitioning out of WSO2 or legacy gateways.
Ability to support both development AND environment maintenance.
