Insight Global is looking for a Transportation Design Engineer. You will design and coordinate roadway, drainage, and utility projects for public and private clients. You'll collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality projects and exceptional service, perform design calculations, quantity and cost estimates, and prepare plans. Your role involves compiling and editing technical reports, feasibility studies, letters, memos, and specifications, as well as reviewing and understanding state Department of Transportation construction plans and technical documents. You'll draft proposals, project budgets, schedules, and manage public involvement activities, oversee the work of EITs and Technicians, and plan and coordinate project activities to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery. Additionally, you'll develop engineering estimates through data collection and analysis, maintain regular communication with clients, manage project schedules, budgets, and subconsultant coordination, and reference design standards, including ADA compliance for pedestrian ramps. You'll draft design memos and lead review meetings with county and state clients, develop exhibits and analyze alternatives during predesign to finalize project concepts, update and review roadway models using Open Roads Designer, and participate in community open houses, presenting project updates and addressing community concerns. Proficiency in design software such as Microstation Open Roads Designer, AutoTurn, Concept Station, ProjectWise, and HydroCAD is essential, as is the ability to create and review 3D models based on proposed geometry and profiles.
