Job Description

In this fast-paced position, you will respond to calls from members and prospective members, answering questions regarding purchasing or changing health plan coverage for individuals and families, and helping them choose which insurance plan is right for them. You will be both taking inbound calls and making outbound calls using a headset. As a consultative sales representative, you will be expected to identify health coverage needs, present and sell appropriate plan options, and actively enroll prospective members. You'll take 20-30 unscripted calls a day during open enrollment, sometimes up to 45 minutes each. Your role is to find out what is important to the consumer ("Why are you calling? What's wrong with your current coverage?" "Here is what doctor would be in network, a quote of how much it'd be").

Accountabilities:
Assist with incoming prospective member calls regarding Medicare or Individual Commercial Products
Determine coverage needs in a prompt, professional and customer friendly manner.
Proactively recommend appropriate health plan coverage options and create coverage proposals.
Follow up by phone with potential applicants to answer additional questions.
Follow procedures for documenting conversations and tracking contacts in CRM system.
Comply with all Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), State of Minnesota, and departmental policies and procedures.
Meets and exceeds specified sales goals for Medicare and/or individual product new member sales.
Meet benchmarks for call metrics (number of calls answered, average call time, etc.)
Schedule adherence.

Required Skills & Experience

Registered Health Insurance Agent- Active insurance license (or recently licensed) in home state (MN, WI, IA, SD, ND).

Minimum of one-year of consultative sales experience working in the insurance industry.

Experience working with people on the phone, preferably in a "call center" setting.

Advanced proficiency and experience with multiple software systems/platforms.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience selling Medicare insurance

Experience at competing insurance companies
