Job Description
A bank client supported by a Value Added Reseller is seeking a Tier 2 Network Engineer to support a large-scale, enterprise financial services environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting complex network infrastructures while partnering with Tier 1 support, Tier 3 engineers, and client stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on networking experience, excellent documentation skills, and comfort operating in a regulated, high-availability environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Tier 2 operational support for enterprise network environments, including troubleshooting and incident resolution.
Support LAN/WAN, routing and switching, and wireless infrastructure in a large-scale production environment.
Troubleshoot network issues across technologies such as:
Routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
VPNs (site-to-site and remote access)
Network segmentation and access control
Partner with Tier 1 teams to escalate and resolve complex incidents; collaborate with Tier 3 on root cause analysis.
Perform network monitoring, event analysis, and performance optimization.
Execute approved change management activities following ITIL and client change-control processes.
Support enterprise network tools (e.g., monitoring, ticketing, configuration management).
Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and incident notes.
Participate in on-call rotations or after-hours support as required.
Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and regulatory standards common to financial institutions.
This is a direct hire role offering 100-125k/year.

Required Skills & Experience
3–6 years of experience in network operations or network engineering roles.
Strong hands-on experience with:
Cisco routing and switching (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR preferred)
TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, QoS
Experience supporting enterprise-scale environments (10,000+ users preferred).
Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, DNA Center, Wireshark).
Experience working in highly regulated or financial services environments.
Strong incident management and documentation skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to support enterprise clients.
