Job Description

This Research & Development Technician role is a hands-on, on-site position based in Anoka, MN, supporting advanced data center cooling and enclosure technologies within a fast-paced R&D lab environment. The technician works closely with engineers to execute prototype, pre-production, and agency testing, building and modifying test fixtures and adapting setups as product designs evolve. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude to troubleshoot equipment, test setups, and product performance, while accurately capturing data and delivering clear, structured technical reports. In addition to supporting validation and new product introduction efforts, the technician helps maintain lab operations through equipment calibration, organization, and continuous improvement initiatives, offering strong exposure to cutting-edge product development and opportunities for hands-on technical growth. Required Skills & Experience

• Associate degree or technical training in electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, or related field preferred (or 2+ years of R&D/test lab experience)
• Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting with ability to independently diagnose test setups, equipment, and product issues
• Experience documenting test results with clear, accurate reporting and data collection (e.g., Microsoft Office)
• Proficient with lab instrumentation (calipers, micrometers, gauges, voltage meters) and data logging tools
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and support extended testing activities
• EPA 608 certification required (or ability to obtain within 3 months, employer will cover costs)
