Insight Global is looking for a Plant IT Engineer to join the team at an automotive customer located in Metro Detroit. This team is responsible for providing technical support for both hardware and software within the company's manufacturing plant on a 5x24 basis. As the Plant IT Engineer you will be implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting IT applications in the plant to ensure maximum contribution to productivity, quality and responsiveness. The Plant IT Engineer also facilitates the implementation of IT enablers in the plant to support the company's process efforts in terms of flexible and lean manufacturing, error proofing and manufacturing execution systems. You'll provide technical support for both IT applications and infrastructure while also focusing on the integration and long term maintenance of the production scheduling execution systems in an assembly setting. This position provides an excellent opportunity both to apply IT skills to manufacturing, and to acquire manufacturing experience that will enhance long-term career potential. This individual must be able to work flexible hours to support a multi-shift operation and requires a rotating schedule- may include days, nights and/or weekends.

Compensation:
$35/hr to $45/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-haves
· 3+ years of experience in a technical support or end user support role
· Experience working in plant, manufacturing, or industrial environment
· Strong troubleshooting experience with both hardware and software
· Experience working with Linux or Windows Servers
· Technical support experience with Windows and Microsoft Office suite
· IT application and infrastructure support experience
· 4 year degree preferred
· Strong soft skillset

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses
· Experience with PowerShell scripting or any scripting experience
· Networking experience
· Experience working in a plant environment
· Experience with Server administration; Windows (2016+) or Linux
· Familiar with Cisco routers and switches to include basic staging, troubleshooting and cable installation.
· Knowledge of Windows server and Windows Active Directory/ADFS
· Experience with VM servers (Vsphere).
· Experience with Android and/or iOS, iPhones, iPads.
· Experience with Office365
· Experience with SharePoint.
Any plant floor automation experience is highly desired (Control systems, PLCs, etc.)
