Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with strong expertise in Siemens Sinumerik ONE/840D and Fanuc CNC controls to support manufacturing operations. This role is focused primarily on troubleshooting, diagnostics, process optimization, and tooling-related support, with light CNC programming and machine modification responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver capable of quickly diagnosing machine, control, servo, tooling, and process issues to minimize downtime and improve production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve CNC machine issues involving Siemens Sinumerik ONE/840D and Fanuc controls.
Support machining operations by diagnosing tooling, cutting parameter, and process-related problems.
Analyze machine alarms, servo faults, spindle issues, communication errors, and control system failures.
Perform root cause analysis of machine downtime and implement corrective actions.
Optimize CNC machine performance through adjustments to tooling offsets, feeds, speeds, and machining parameters.
Provide light CNC programming support, including program edits, optimization, and troubleshooting G-code issues.
Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, tooling, and production teams to improve machine reliability and efficiency.
Support startup, commissioning, and testing of CNC equipment and automation systems.
Assist with preventive maintenance activities and recommend improvements to machine controls and tooling processes.
Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures.
Support integration and troubleshooting of machine peripherals including probes, tool setters, automatic tool changers, and auxiliary equipment.
Train operators and technicians on CNC control functionality, troubleshooting practices, and best operating procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

-5+ years of experience supporting CNC machine tools in a manufacturing environment.
Siemens Sinumerik ONE and/or 840D controls
Fanuc CNC controls

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with Siemens PLCs (TIA Portal, Step 7) or Fanuc PMC troubleshooting.
